This used to be one of the best Restaurants in the Filipines when French chef/owner was running the kitchen. Still spectacular location but food is nonsense since changing hands to local conglomerate. Turned out “catch of the day” was actually catch from 2 days ago ! Eat somewhere else on Panglao.

Still has a nice restaurant with a good view. Food was also very good. Beware of the 750 minimum spending amount

It’s a small botanical area where small sized monkeys are kept. The maximum size of the primate seems to be 6-8 inches. They are nocturnal animals. During day time they cling on to the branch of a tree and hide under the leaves.

The tarsiers are a lot smaller than I imagined, so they are VERY difficult to find. There are members of staff standing next to where the Tarsiers are on the leaves sleeping, and they point them out to you, which is VERY helpful and give you a lot of information about them. I found that to be very helpful, and definitely worth the money.

Called one afternoon and enjoyed the few sleeping tarsier seen.

One of our favorite places to visit in the Philippines was for sure Panglao, and especially the Donatela Hotel (Tarsier Botanika). We had such a great time. The hotel was built with nature in mind, and you experience that everywhere around you. Nestled in a natural landscape of 7,5 hectare of botanical gardens, the private villas are a dream ❤ They are designed to give privacy, luxury and space for the guests, and they for sure do. Each villa has it’s own private garden, and we have for sure used it. One of the afternoons we decided to have a long picnic with lots of food. The staff was very happy to help us with the set up and arranged all the food. There were pastries, fresh fruit, sandwiches and a fresh coconut. We also really like the design of the villas. It is based on the traditional Ifugao Tribal House concept found in the northern part of the Philippines, which gives a really cozy natural touch to the resort.
Since few of the villas has it’s own private pool (!), the main pool was not crowded at all during our stay. We had so many chances to be absolutely alone at the huge pool, with a bar and very good wifi. While chilling at the pool, you hear lots of great birds. We walked around the property to see where the noises came from, and we found a mini zoo. With lots of rescued animals, as cats, a bearcat, parrots and lots of other birds. Really awesome!
When you are visiting Panglao, you need to check out Donatela Hotel (Tarsier Botanika). The resort also boasts a fine dining restaurant, wine room, and a variety of activities, such as horseback riding, and spa treatments, apart form the tours and attractions of the island.

Great facilities but service and operations are SO bad.
Here's the good experiences:
1. Great facilities
2. good lunch and dinner at Paprika
3. Free shuttle to Alona
Here's the bad experiences:
1. After giving arrival details we still had to wait 40min for our service to arrive. I kept calling to ask where they were and they kept saying "the driver will be there in 10min" three times until it finally arrived... 40min later. And to think they asked us for our ETA a few days before our arrival
2. They didn't inform us we had FREE dinner as part of our package, I had to call to ask. And they charged us the first dinner when it should have been free.
3. They didn't tell us the shuttle to Alona had arrived and was outside even if we were just sitting at the reception waiting for 15min. We had to ask where it was, that's when we found out it was just outside
4. Breakfast food choices are disappointing
5. Short on staff at Paprika
6. We bought something at their shop but they didn't include it in our bill upon check out. Lucky for them we informed them about this purchase. Unlucky for us that we had to wait another 30min for them to figure out how much to bill us and they even had us get the items out of our luggage to see how much it costs. I don't know why the shop didn't have the receipt
7. They forgot to charge us the remaining balance of or accommodation upon check out, so they sent us an email asking us to pay them.

Very interesting and nice to see. Be careful of ant hills and lots of mosquitos. We were able to see 3. They're so tiny and cute. Couldn't hold them any more like back in the days.

We went here on the 26 May and were turned away, being told the gardens were closed for major replanting. So was this the place you visited or was it the tarsier sanctuary ?

Hi, Tarsier botanika is now open again how ever since the Villas are already open for business, the tour will only be limited and open for those who just want to dine at Tarsier Paprika restaurant, but taking a tour from the Garden i guess its no longer allowed since they want to keep privacy for the guest who stays at the villas. Very beautiful place.
