The bridge is an essential part of a visit to Višegrad, though I’m not sure that that’s particularly a hot take given I’m not sure that there’s any other reason to visit the town. I found Višegrad generally underwhelming, in the sense that nothing other than the bridge justified the (very beautiful) drive from Sarajevo. The bridge is as amazing as they say, and did warrant the effort to visit.

Amazing view, you can enjoy in silence but only if you come on working days. During weekends it is overcrowded and the joy is not on a high level.

I visited this place in July 2020. This is a really beautiful place. There is also near bridge bakery so you can watch the river and eating some delicious Bosnian food. For everybody!

Bridge on the Drina is a real historical site, especially if you are a fun of literature and if you have read a novel Bridge on the Drina by Ivo Andric, nobel prize author.
A late spring and beginning of a summer are definitely the best time to visit the bridge.

It was a very nice experience to walk on this 16th century bridge over Drina described by Andric and financed by Mehmed pasa Sokolovic. This is a genuine culture we enjoyed very much.

Beautiful bridge that withstood the test of time. The bridge over river Drina beautifully portrayed by a Nobel prize winner Ivo Andrić.

For a long time I wanted to visit this place and I did not regret it. The bridge is monumental, very beautiful and practical. It is open for walking, free and very practical for both children and the elderly. There are benches around so you can enjoy the view and relax. It is easily approached from both sides and it is impossible not to notice it. It was damaged in World Wars I and II, but the difference is minimal.

Most famous thing to see in Visegrad is this old bridge. Of course, also nobel awarded writer Ivo Andric wrote about Visegrad and one his book has name "Bridge on Drina" ("Na drini cuprija") which is this bridge. It's well preservd, but I think there is lack of some writings, tables with information about history of this bridge or town, so people can learn something about it.

Site of massacres of Bosnian Moslem population by Bosnian Orthodoxs both in the 90's and 1940's. Such beauty corrupted by such hate. If you go there, go with a wreath to drop in the river that swallowed so many lives. ( ignore the time went and status, no other options to post this warning)

I went to see this bridge as part of a day tour and I must say it is spectacular. The colour of the water against the colour of the bridge is amazing. The town itself is cute and worth spending some time looking around!
