I came to Chihuahua for work and once I was done I look for places to visit with some of my coworkers.
The place is interesting, but sadly illumination is not good enough so my pictures of the trip are not nice.
Entrance is allowed for kids and adults but restricted to people with claustrophobic, respiratory diseases and heart problems, the trip becomes hot and humid when you start to go down into the grutas.
Not recommended for people with any disability since this place is not adapted.
The trip consisted of crossing a small mountain from the inside and coming out in the other side of the mountain. There is a car that pick up the travelers from the other side and take them back to the parking slot.
It is a good experience, but because of COVID I don’t not recommend it too much. The space is reduced and the group of people is limited but not small enough to respect the distance.
Price was $2.5 USD for adults and it is actually open from Tuesday to Friday from 11 am to 4 pm where the last trip is at 3:30 pm

The caves were great for exploring. They are long, with a lot of stairs and ramps. You drop about 84 meters underground before coming back up. There is no food or drink allowed inside, and a bis will take you back to the parking lot after. All the walkways have sturdy rails, and the guides are knowledgeable and friendly. Expect to take about 1-1.5 hours to explore the cave with the guided tour. Pricetag was only 50 pesos, so well worth it.

Chihuahua has expanded so much that now these beautiful caves are inside the city so they're very easy to access. They're inside a mountain and the entrance is on the top so you get a spectacular view of the city from there. The stalactite, stalagmite and other rock formations in the caves are impressive and they do deserve a visit if you're in town. They have set a very good system of lighted walkways inside the caves so it's very easy and safe to visit them. It does get really warm inside so dress light and enjoy this wonder of nature.

You can visit the caverns as a common visit, they are fantastic!! But if you want something different, take the tour where some legends are represented (starts at the cathedral).

Years and years visiting Chihuahua City and I never had gone to visit Nombre de Dios Caverns.. It is a very well organized place.. you enter by groups of 15 persons, you walk over a cement floor with hand rails... Guide guys are very kind and explain very clear every details on the route... The tour last 40 minutes more or less, there is a lot of humidity.. but any way the environment is nice.. there are a lot of stalactites, and forms on the walls.. is a very nice tour... I do recommend it...

This is a limestone cave and I have visited the cave twice, once in summer and once in winter. I recommend visiting in winter when there are usually fewer visitors and temperatures, both within and outside the cave, are lower. The cave was formed by dissolution of the limestone by moving, possibly hydrothermal, water. The cave contains an array of stalactites, stalagmites and other cave formations. The cave was openned during quarrying operations and, unfortunately, many formations were broken and otherwise damaged by early visitors. The cave is rather unique in that you walk through from a lower entrance at the visitor's center to an upper entrance (exit) and returned to the visitor"s center by shuttle bus. I found the guides to be knowledgeable, informative and willing to answer questions. I recommend bringing a flashlight or other light source as the cave and trails are quite dark and the extra light allows you to peer into the many nooks, crannies and deep pits that populate the cave.

The caverns are located right in the city. Nice view from Chihuahua city. The walk takes 1 hour and is about 1,5km with ups and downs inside the caverns. Entrance fee is ok. Visitors shall be able to resist >30 degrees with high humidity in a dark place. Good option to spend a morning or afternoon.
