We decided to visit the plantation on an off season Saturday morning and were disappointed to read online that it was closed. I sent a PM on Facebook hoping someone might be there.....and within 15 minutes, the owner Duane Dove, responded and said come on over with our group of nine. He met us at his gate and proceeded to... More

We got a warm welcome. Harry the guide is an expert and was able to provide the French group with all the technical information that they sought. This island was the last stop of their exploratory visit to the Caribbean and they declared that this estate was the best experience that they had had. They complimented the owner for the... More

Turn off the main road where you see the waterfall sign. Drive through the estate to the gates of the farm. There is not a lot to see, but the location makes it an enjoyable hour. Check first as the opening hours are erratic. The chocolate at the gate is more expensive than buying on-line. I recommend you try the... More

A well managed and informative guided tour around the garden and a part of the cocoa estate. We had very knowledgeable guides who were also very welcoming. We learned about the creation of a plantation and the essential elements of crowing cocoa plants as well as the fermentation and drying process. Beans are exported to a world class chocolatier. Highly... More

Was fortunate enough to visit this place, was on a business trip and had a spare day so went with a few friends. Although not an official open day we were allowed to tag onto a cruise ship tour. We arrived early and Dwayne came up to meet us and we were lucky enough to get a private chat with... More

We all eat chocolate but do not necessarily know how the cocoa it is made from is grown. This tour shows the trees, pods and even lets you taste a cocoa bean straight from the pod. Not at all what I was expecting. Harry, the plantation manager was interesting and very informative, answering all our questions and pointing out trees... More

This cocoa estate is right next to the Argyle waterfall in Tobago, and visiting both in a day is easily doable. Great way to learn about how chocolate is produced as well as get a free sample with some rum at the end! Worth the hour or two for a visit.

We went on a tour of the Cocoa Estate with our tour guide, Simon McLetchie (see my review), and the tour of the actual estate was given by the manager. It was very interesting to see not only where cocoa comes from, but also coffee, which is grown on the estate solely for the employees. We learned how they process... More

Never heard of this place until I went on a day tour to Tobago and this was one of the stops. Firstly there are a lot of steps to get to the actual place then they carry you through the estate where there are a lot of cocoa trees as well as other trees. The lady who carried us to... More

I emailed the address given on tobagococoa.com website and checked the tour was on (glad I did as the tour only runs Mon, Weds and Fridays). Prompt reply from Duane the owner. On arrival we were shown round by Harry the manager. Very interesting and informative short tour. We all learnt a lot about cocoa growing and also lots of... More
