The waterfall is amazing. However, getting there is not easy. The path is wet and slippery and the steps not for the faint hearted. Make sure you pack good shoes and water. I love being there all by myself without any other tourists. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area.

We were all alone around 14h-15h. Which was really cool. The hikes down and up are a bit steep but do-able. Be sure to wear good shoes. The waterfall itself is amazing and perfect to swim in. Just be careful of the stream to the river, lots of undertow. The restaurant at the top is also a big bonus: good food, cheap and an awesome view over the rice paddies. And the swing is much cheaper as Bali swing (50k). Absolutely recommend it.

Sometimes you need to get lost to explore hidden places. Really beautiful water fall. We walked through a stunning landscape to get there . No tourism.

Lots of tourists, long hiking and mediocre waterfall. If you are in mid bali there is plenty of other waterfalls that is way more private and greater views. Do not recommend this place.

Recently the local villagers have improved the facilities and the road leading to (Dusun) Kuning waterfall.
I was very excited to check out the improvements, since until the summer of 2017, the path leading to the falls was very dangerous, and impossible to descend in the rainy season.
The great news is that a completely new path was constructed to access the falls, of which the most steep part is covered with aluminium stairs, which look a bit unsafe but are in fact well constructed and perfectly safe to both descend and ascend.
Unfortunately there is also bad news.
On the site of the former parking area there is now an activity complex with a restaurant.
Here you are invited to buy one of their many packages that include an Indonesian buffet lunch and a range of artificial activities like ATV buggy rides, plowing the local rice field or even riding the villagers' own buffaloes, the last of which are blatantly but poorly copied from the nearby rural commune Subak Guliang Kangin.
It made me a bit sad to see how this fantastic hideaway, which used to be run by the children of Desa Kuning with innocent charm and enthusiasm, has been commercialized by their parents.
There is no parking area in this small village anymore, so cars have to find space on the side of the only dead-end street that leads to the new entrance.
When there are many visitors, turning your car around is only possible in the rice field that borders the end of the road.
One of our cars got stuck in the mud and luckily we had a rope and another car to pull it out, because the villagers offered no help or parking supervision at all once we had bought our entrance tickets.
If you plan a visit, please make sure to wear or bring shoes with uneven soles, and leave your slippers behind in the car, because although the metal staircase is a fantastic improvement, the rest of the new path to reach the waterfalls is still difficult to descend.
The new steps have again been simply dug in the hillside, just like the steps of the old path, only now without arm-rest or any other form of support.
The new steps are only two months old but they are already covered with slippery moss, and not cut horizontally, but edging downward.
It's very easy to lose your footing, and you can only go down the steps slowly and carefully.
This makes it a heavy downward climb, notably hard on the upper thighs.
It takes about half an hour to get down to the falls, and about 20 minutes to get back to the entrance.
The waterfall itself is, well, still an absolute delight.
The water in the natural pool is clean and of a pleasant temperature, and it's not too hard to swim until directly under the cascading water for a 110% natural back and shoulder massage.
Going for a swim in the nearby river is also still very pleasant and safe with children of over 7 years old.
The water is a bit murky but clean, there is almost no trash, and the current is not strong; it was gentle, even when we visited in the rainy season.
The river water is notably colder, and even though it was a hot day, our six-year-old daughter felt it was too cold for her, and preferred the waterfall pool.
I enjoyed our visit once we were at the falls, but overall I was disappointed in the 'new & improved' Kuning waterfall experience.
I would recommend a visit only to guests in good physical shape, outside of the high season and rainy season months.
The natural and local conditions will be optimal from April through June and September through November.

Very beautiful, hifg and spectacular waterfall. Almost no tourist, so the best place to take a swim in the middle of nature.
Only downside is that you have to take a slippery and steap road, so be carefull but it's defenitely worth it!
