The mist and clouds descended and we were plunged into a landscape that could have been used for Jurassic Park! A small visitor centre with toilets - all fine. Several trails lead from the carpark, some of which loop quickly round back to the central...More

This is a good place to start your introduction to the Laurisilva forests of La Gomera. This is a small visitor center compared to the Juego de Bolas visitor center in another part of the island. However, Laguna Grande area is in the lush and...More

We were only here for a short time as part of an island tour. This wax myrtle and tree heather forest is unique to La Gomera, and is truly luxurious. There is a nice trail which is both well signposted and informative.

We visited while at the National Park of Garonjay. It is the largest municipality of the island. It covers the north and south of the island and is, therefore, the territory that offers the most varied landscape of La Gomera.

I didn't do my research before visiting and I must say I was expecting a big lagoon. It appears though that the lagoon appears when it rains heavily and the ground becomes waterlogged. Whilst I may be missing something here I can only think this...More

La Gomera is a lush green island and still the laurisilva or laurel forest surprised. There is a magical feel and the climate is cooler and moist. For a person who suffers from nasal dryness it was easier to breath. The heaths were tall trees,...More
