Big news the old V & D parking is now Qpark and open. it looks a bit different on the outside but inside its the same. Hudson Bay has been replaced by an outlet store. my favorite D & E coffee place is now a dunkin donuts not the same at all.
beware the albert hein parking side. there is massive construction in the old KPMG site and the traffic is a big snarl

I have been living in Amstelveen with my partner for several years. As far as I'm concerned, there may be a LUSH store and a very high-quality patisserie such as Labeille, Linnick, Waldo or Salvo. Apart from city heart, this is missing in all of Amstelveen anyway. I am very happy with the AH and Bijenkorf. Furthermore, not really “hip” business.. yet another sports /nike store or leonidas doesn’t make that better (there are already 2 coco & sebas shops, why not a really good chocolatier like van soest where you can also get an ice cream in the summer).. just some ideas. Also nice that market on Friday morning, but we full-time working people during the week prefer that market on Saturday. That Saturday we go back to Amsterdam for the “fun” things.

first parking is tricky enter the underground parking from the Karl Keizer side the first level is usually full so go straight to the level 2 there is a lift to the ground level. the shops are being up graded back to nicer brands. there are also many new eating and drinking places. beware Friday which is market day and the market takes over much of the out door space.

I am on assignment in the Netherlands for a year in total...7 more months to go, and I live in the Stadshart. My wife and I researched for at least 4 months before the temporary move. At first we looked at Central Amsterdam thinking that city living would be fun...walk out the door to restaurants etc. After all that research, I was maniacally focused on the Stadshart. Our relocation realtor showed us 8 apartments in one day with 2 of them within the Stadshart and it was an easy choice.

Why such an easy choice? EVERYTHING you need is right here. I'm conservative when it comes to exploring...a little bit at a time. The Stadshart has it all, and from my apartment overlooking the central fountain it is literally steps to the bank, grocery store, wonderful inside mall with nice shops. Many restaurants circle the central plaza, and it's an absolute pleasure on a warm Dutch evening to sit out there and have a few beer(s) then walk to your door within 2 minutes.

This area is central from a public transportation perspective. Metro 51 takes you to Central Amsterdam. Tram 5 is magical...it hits the tourist spots including the museums, and it's end stop is Amstelveen Binnehoff which is right here in the Stadshart. Bus 300 takes you in 2 stops to the Schipol Airport Plaza. 12 minutes and less than 2 euro for the trip to the airport

My doctor is a 5 minute walk away, dry cleaner 3 minutes...travel agents, restaurants, bakeries. the mall itself.

Stadshart literally means Heart of the City. It's the town square of Amstelveen. Shows are put on here. From my balcony I've seen Karate tournaments, Vollyeyball, a bike event, and in November..the Indian festival of lights...is HERE.

I could have gotten a car, I got a bike instead. All is so close to the Stadshart in Amstelveen.

I've got 7 more months on assignment before returning to the US. I'll be very happy to get home, but I'll miss how wonderfully convenient everything is here in the Amstelveen Stadshart.

Great stores, nice restaurants, a beautiful town square...pleasureable place to live.

In a country which doesn't have much of a mall culture, this mall in Amstelveen is a rarity. You will find all sorts of stores here selling shoes, clothes, lingerie, accessories, watches, sunglasses, electronics, make-up, jewellery etc. You can find high-end brands as well as affordable ones here so everyone who visits, feels at home. They have a selection of cafes and options to eat too. Overall, this mall has a good vibe and the staff is friendly and kind. There is a tram stop right outside and they have a parking garage close by so very convenient to travel to. You can easily spend 4 - 5 hours here just looking around.

When you visit city centre of Amsterdam to go shopping it’s too crowded. This shopping mall has all known brands and you can have you coffee at Starbucks to relax.

Very conveniently located shopping mall. Next to central bus station and a parking lot. Many different stores offering clothing, housewares, cosmetics and groceries in a range of prices. I was visiting and needed some warmer clothing as the weather turned cooler. I was able to get everything I needed. There are also several restaurants and coffee shops within and around the area. On Friday there is a large outdoor market which is worth a visit. Not a tourist destination but good shopping.

Many stores and places to eat, typical mall. Indoors for the most part. Parking can be a bit of a hassle, but if you get the free membership pass on their site, you can park two hours for free info the main parking garage.

serious construction at the south east entrance. Paths are blocked. the sand volleyball is out for a week of fun in the sun. More restaurants and some new stores.
