The "Nationaal Dachau-monument" consists of a sixty meter long road of Belgian bluestone; 2.35 meters wide, with a high row of trees on the left and right, 3.5 meters high tightly clipped yew hedge. The names of 500 concentration camps and satellite camps are carved in the street. So walking along the blue pavement one reads the names of the terrible places that are remembered here. It is simple but impressive.
