We dropped here on a Saturday in January for just a tasting. We had no reservation but the site said drop in visits was ok. The security guard was great and gave us a warm welcome but the girl in the wine store / tasting room was completely indifferent and told us she could not accommodate us (even though there was absolutely no-one else there !) Very disappointing. If she worked for me I would have fired her!! Do yourselves a favour and go visit RE instead where the people are lovely and very welcoming !

I have enjoyed William Cole wines since I was introduced to the 2003 vintage. It has truly been a pleasure to get to know the owners over the years along with the staff who have been kind enough to host us for tours and tastings. This year we took our daughters and showed them where one of their favorite wines is made and meet the staff. We were greeted with a smile and had a great visit enjoying a couple of recent vintages. My girls both agreed that this was one of their favorite stops. The vineyard makes a very limited quantity of estate cab that is extremely high quality. It is worth every penny and I look forward to my allocation every year!

The winery is beautiful but the tour was perfunctory. Our tour guide was nice but did not seem well versed in wine making.

We were taken for a short tour and tasting when transferring from Valparaiso to Santiago Airport for our flight home. A beautiful sunny day showed the vineyard in all its ordered beauty. We were given a tour of the vines and the processing plant by a knowledgeable guide with English just about adequate for the purpose. The tasting was not cheap but very well conducted and gave us a chance to sample a range of grape types and qualities. There were two major problems: First, we could not drink all we were offered or we would have had to have been decanted onto the aeroplane and second, if we had purchased even a single bottle it would have been confiscated at airport security. Our problems, not theirs! We recommend the tour for anyone who would like a vineyard tour that does not take a large chunk out of their day. More sophisticated wine lovers than us might prefer a bigger, more extensive property. Cheers!

We had a great tour of William Cole Vineyards today, quite by accident! We got lost on our way to another winery and ended up here. Javiera was our guide and she was wonderful. She answered all our many questions. Even though we had no reservations, they were happy to accommodate us. The tour took us into the vineyard, into fermentation building, and gave us a close-up look of the bottling process, something we haven't found anywhere else. Also, the tasting included delicious local cheeses. In all, we were very impressed by the vineyard, the winery, the tasting, the wines, and the guide. Our tour ended up being private which made it that much more personal. The facilities were also quite beautiful. I would definitely recommend a tour here. Some of the other vineyards spin a better tale (much of which simply doesn't jive with the reality of wine-growing/wine-making), but William Cole gives you more of a sense of the modern realities of a vineyard and wine-making.

Before my wife and I flew back to the states we visited the William Cole Vineyards , a nice tour , but we were totally taken by the taste of their Pinot Noir they have two different types of Pinot Noir and they were both exceptional in fact we purchased some bottles to be sent back to the US , they let us try any type of wine we wanted and we were pretty impressed

This was a stop that was part of a group tour at the end of the cruise. Evidently we got there early and had to wait until 9:30 opening time so we spent half an hour waiting. It was a pleasant tour and beautiful surroundings. We sampled two wines although I thought it was going to be three. Not sure if I misunderstood or what. The wine was served with some crackers, cheese and peanuts. As part of a long day it was a nice stop.

My husband and I just visited William Cole on our vacation to Chile. If you are planning a visit to Casablanca I would not recommend this to be your first stop. Although the views are nice (as they are throughout Casablanca) this vineyard lacks everything you would expect from a vineyard. We arrived about 2 in the afternoon on a Sat. and it was closed until about 2:30, then we were offered a tasting of 2 or 3 wines. 2 wines for 7.000 pesos and 3 for 10.000. We opted for 2, and we were given no choice, all they had to offer for a tasting was a red and a rose’ no other options. They were ok wines but neither my husband or I drink Rose’. Being a vineyard you would expect to have choices of the wines you sample. The staff was nice enough, however the service was slow. We were told this vineyard and Quintay were purchased by the Weinstein family which owns pharmacies throughout Chile they seem to not know much about wine production. All around this was not one of the best vineyards!

We stopped here as part of our tour and we loved it. It’s a very modern vineyard, with state of the art machinery, but it still has that family feel about it. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and made the tour really interesting. Of course what you really want to do is sample the wines ! We certainly weren’t disappointed. They set out a very good selection, including cheese and crackers and gave us all the background information on each wine separately. I personally enjoyed all the wines on offer, but the Pinot Noir was exceptional.

This is a large winery that used to be family owned but was sold two years ago. I hope in the future they will continue to make good wines and not get caught up in volume. The Pinot Noir was my favorite but the Columbine Special reserve was good also. We ended up buying a bottle of both and we look forward to finding a place in the US we can buy from.
