We started the walk from Zuishin Mon the entrance gate to the top of Mt Haguro.
You will pass by the red bridge called the Shinkyo bridge and waterfall called the suga No taki.
Magnificent sights

The Pagoda on Haguro-san is definitely worth visiting. You climb down stone steps through beautiful old trees, over a red bridge and then, when you see the building through the trees it is a moment to remember. Up close, the Pagoda is really amazing. Built without nails, it stands in the trees and looks like a part of the forest.

Even in spring, there is a lot of snow, so make sure you are wearing sturdy footwear. The snow becomes tricky to navigate, and I crashed through the surface of it a couple of times. The air is cool in the trees, so a warm jacket is a good idea too.

The Pagoda and its surrounding area is my favourite thing to visit in the area and I often bring friends and visitors here. Everyone is impressed with how beautiful and unspoiled the area is.

If you chose not to climb to the top of the mountain, take your time climbing back to the gate. The steps are small and the air is a little thinner. There are no handrails either. In summer it can be quite busy.

I go there for work almost every two weeks. And yet everytime I go to the pagoda I find it different, whether it is under the snow or surrounded by green foliage during summer.

You can arrive from the bottom or taking it in via the walk from the top. It's a good step down to it and back up but well worth it. Need to be fit and have the correct foot wear.

It is a special experience to visit to the five-storied pagoda, the building have long history, and because it have a big log at middle, it can bear the strong earthquake. The way want to pagoda is charming. I like this place.

I suspect this visit was much quieter than it would have been over the summer. It is certainly a slipper walk on the snow and ice, but I love that they permit access for those willing to make the walk. It is beautiful.

This place is far from the beaten track in the countryside of West Japan. Come here while the foreign tourists still haven't discovered it yet. On a cold November day, we were the only foreign tourists here. The hike to the pagoda is only 10 minutes from the bus station. This pagoda is the first stop on the long path up the mountain. It is as beautiful as a Japanese scenery can get, especially with falling snow like on the day we went.

Goju-to pagoda is a fabulous, worthwhile sight! Access is via a well-maintained pathway that winds through a forest of mature sugi (cedar trees). Frog sounds and a gushing waterfall add to the sylvan atmosphere. The handsome five-level pagoda is perfectly sited in the forest. It’s my favorite pagoda of the many I have seen across Japan. I highly recommend Goju-to for its authentic, spiritual mood and setting.

This little five-story pagoda is glorious. If the scaffolding is up, you can see the amazing inner joinery.
