I caught this as my 3rd train enroute from Tokyo to Sakaiminato.
The trains are old but air conditioned, they move very slowly but in a way they're charming; you feel like you're on your way to a seaside resort rather than a port. The...More
This is the local JR service from Sakaiminato to Yonago. If you are on a cruise ship visit to Sakaiminato then this is the train you will catch from Sakaiminato to Yonago where you will change trains to Matsue for Matsue Castle or Tottori Flower...More

Took this train from Yonago station to the airport. Train fare is cheap and is entertaining all the way. Announcement was made with Kitaro's voice and interior is all Kitaro charactors. Make sure you check out the statues at the Yonago platform before you board...More

Trains runing from Yonago to Sakaiminato, home town of the Japanese comics, would have different characters or drawings marked on the train carts. Fans and mostly childs would tried to take photos on what they want both inside the train compartments or from outside.
All trains and stations running from Yonago to Sakaiminato stations are having different Kitaro characters. Most of the visitors are crazy with photo shooting of all these characters and have fun.
It is a very good idea for promoting a tourist destination.
