Visit the Kazurabashi bridge. Cross the bridge costs 550yens. The bridge is hanging over the river about 50 feet high. Terrify experience when you walk over cuz the walkway are made by woods which is scattered wide open making you feel walking on a tight...More

Due to the isolated location of these bridges there were hardly any visitors there when we visited. There are two bridges, so-called "husband and "wife" bridges that you can cross, and a waterfall. If you are in the area it is well worth making the...More

We caught the bus from Oboke station to Okuiya and back. We had just under 5 hours before catching the return bus. This was easily filled in with crossing and recrossing the wonderful vine bridges, playing in the trolley cart across the river and back...More

Iya Kazurabashi seems a must visit. But I think there are too many people there. There are two similar bridges at Okuiya. You can walk over them as many times as you like. There is a wooden cable cart (yaen), which was used to transport...More

I heard a lot about the bridges and just had to go. The location is gorgeous but not worth the trip out all the way. The bridges are so extremely neat that it just feels too produced. I took a couple of busses to get...More

Popular with tourists, this bridge provides a relatively exciting way to cross the river. The bridge is entirely safe (rebuilt and constructed with steel wire) but there are spaces between the slats. Probably best not to look down.

The two bridges here are so wonderful! No many people visit here because it is far (we visit on Tuesday, but maybe weekend is different). You need to walk down into valley through forest to access, but walking path is not very difficult. I think...More

This was incomparable to the "main" Kazurabashi bridge in Nishi Iya. The big tour buses don't come out this far, so what few visitors the place gets are independent travelers (we saw only about 7 or 8 others while there). The feeling of remote discovery...More

This bridge is amazing, the views over the gorge are breath taking but for me the most interesting thing was actually crossing the bridge itself. I don't like heights much but I prepared myself and went for it. I loved it! You do need to...More

Sorry. I do not know the answer. We stayed in Oboke at an excellent bed and breakfast. We took the tourist shuttle bus to Kazura Bashi.
