Although this is an art museum, the garden is the star here. A bit of a distance from Sakaiminato it is definitely worth the trip. Well thought out beautiful vistas are to be found as you walk around the museum.

It's quite far away. It takes about 3.5 - 4 hours from Kyoto to Yasugi (about 390 km). It will cost around 12,000 yen (one way). Take the Nozomi bullet train from Kyoto to Okayama (it's 3 stops). Then, transfer to the JR... More
