The architecture of this museum is of course gorgeous as it was designed by IM Pei but the museum itself is quite small. I was shocked to see that the largest exhibits were Chinese art. I would have loved to see more Japanese art. The...More

The Miho Museum is an amazing day trip from Kyoto. Go for the building, landscape and the treasures inside. We took the train 3 stops from Kyoto and then the 150 bus. The bus is cash only: bring 840 Yen for each person one way....More

A late project by I M Pei, really stunning architecture organically fitting the landscape. Not particularly easy to reach, but definitely worth the effort. Some truly extraordinary pieces in the collection - too often, it seems, of questionable provenance, particularly pieces form Central Asia and...More

Hi Ann Miho museum is really easy to get to by public transportation: JR train to Ishiyama and then Teisan bus line straight to Miho. If you still need a privet driver - any taxi driver will love to help you.
