Good stop along Mino Park. Can make a wish on a paper or wood piece to be tied at the temple by donating a small amount.

The temple wasn't spectacularly built but its spacious grounds are a pleasure to stroll around. We were there on a Thursday morning and it was deserted.

Ryuanji is a temple, which is located in the halfway from Hankyu Mino station to Mino Waterfall. The temple itself is not something special, but its red bridge over a river is a nice spot for taking pictures.

As you walk along the waterfall path, passing under the Benzaiten Waterfall Torii gate, you will come to the mountain gate ahead. Beyond the mountain gate is the Kannon Hall, and at the top of the stone steps behind that, you will find the Daikoku Hall and the main Bentendo Hall. In front of the Kannon Hall is the vermilion Zuiun Bridge spanning the waterfall path and the Minoh River, and on the opposite bank are the Houo-kaku and guest hall. It is still a large temple today, but at its peak there were over 80 buildings, and apparently the area below the waterfall where the souvenir shops and restaurants are now lined up was once a building. I learned that it is a very historic temple where many famous religious figures have trained.
