We had a great day out at the African Safari. We booked the 12.15 safari when we arrived at the park at 10am and found the 2 hours waiting was easily filled exploring the petting zoo and neighboring areas.

I bought my tickets from the Kamenoi Bus Kitahama Bus Center opposite the Tokiwa in Beppu City, but I believe you can also buy at the Beppu station or buy it when you arrive at the African Safari.
