This little town is just a short distance from Usa train station and Usa Shrine, but makes for a pleasant side trip. Although the "Showa-town" is marketed primarily to Japanese baby boomers, it was also delightful to us as Americans. Many of the toys in the museum and other displays were familiar to me, and the shops along the streets... More

I wanted to see this town and visit the showa street area as advertised in Japan National Tourism Organisation. Walking along the narrow streets, takes you back in time. There are shops displaying many old artifacts from the 1950's to 1960's in amongst the usual tourist souvenirs, which was a pleasant experience. The area is not large. The shops sell... More
