豊後竹田から朝地に向かう左側、豊肥線の列車の車窓から一瞬見えます。二連の大きなアーチの石の水路橋が見事です。登録有形文化財。

大分県竹田市の笹無田川にかかる、隣町の朝地町若宮地区への農業用水・井路の２連のアーチ式石橋。１９１７年建造で、国の登録有形文化財。橋長さ５９ｍは、日本現存アーチ式の第１３位。径間２１．５ｍと大きい、拱矢（橋台からアーチの要石までの高さ）が９ｍ。拱矢比（径間／高さ）２．３９の割と緩やかなアーチ美。
同地には、上下１００余りの谷間に、新旧５本の橋が並ぶ。
東から現国道５７号橋、旧国道５７号橋『両者トンネルからの橋』、ＪＲ豊肥本線鉄道橋（１９２３年建造）、２連の石橋水路、北に旧国道橋となる。１６年２月現在は、さらに旧国道橋に接して、自動車専用中九州道路建設用工事橋があり、６本。いづれ新道路橋を入れて６本になりそう。
国道、鉄道、水路橋、生活道の旧国道橋と合わせて、巨大かつ優美な２連石橋を見ることができる。
