A public bath that represents Naruko Onsen. It is a thousand years old, maintained by the preservation society and open to the public. There are no amenities at all and no towels for sale, so if you don't bring your own, buy one from a nearby souvenir shop.
It is an acidic milky-white spring with a sulfury smell, but it is not tangy and is a good salt plum. However, the water boat on the front side was very hot, and many people were hot! He said, "I'm sorry." I took a hot water myself, but it boiled in five minutes. When I asked the clerk, he told me that the water temperature was 45 degrees F. He said it was difficult to control the temperature of the water because it was adjusted only by the amount of water that was poured into the yugi. The water in the back was a little cold.
As of September 2024, a hot spring fee of 300 yen is charged, and as there is no parking nearby, it is recommended to use the hot spring tour parking lot (10 minutes walk, free).

The price has gone up since the old days, but you can still bathe in the hot spring water for 200 yen. You can get a locker key for your valuables at the reception. There are two baths, one with a different source and one with a higher temperature. There is no heating or water addition. If it's not crowded, it's a great hot spring. There is no shampoo or other amenities.

Small old schooled onsen perfect for a good soak after hiking Naruko Gorge. Think it is one of the hottest soaks we had and our muscles appreciate it. No English except for signs directing for women/men side. We paid 200 ¥ each from the vending machine. Need to being your own towel and soap. No lockers available but this is Japan and dead honest. Left our purses in cubicles but can see from the two pools. A nice experience and a slice of Japanese life.

I went to Naruko onsen as a one day trip. After visiting Naruko gorge and there were about 2 hours left before taking a train back to Sendai, I decided to go to this bath house. There was no towel, no soap, small locker with key for your valuable things. The entrance fee was 150 yen. I bought the ticket on the automatic machine at entrance gate. I was the only non-Japanese guest at that time. The spring water was quite hot and milky white with sulfur dioxide smell. It was quite a distinguished experience.

A small, clean hot spring with a faint sulfur scent and white water with a waterfall. The water temperature is a little high. Please note that there is no parking lot.
