The staff were very unwelcoming. Many of the animals had chains around their necks and held in concrete areas with nothing to lay down on. Absolutely horrible conditions for these foxes. When the staff brought out a fox to be held by visitors, it was...More

Do wait for the fox hugging experience which costs 600 yen at 11am if you are going in the morning. Treats cost 100 yen at the feeding platform area where you can snap lots of photos of the fox fighting each other for the food....More

I just came back from a 3 week trip to Japan with my little sister and the Fox Village is the only place I visited which I didn't like and made me quite sad. The place is not big enough for the amount of animals...More

My daughter and I loved it. It IS an expensive adventure (round trip from Tokyo was $400-500 for two people; bullet train without rail pass + cab $40) Still we think it was worth the time and money. First of all, it is a chance...More

I was super-excited to go there, having watched some YouTubers and focusing on the positive reviews in here. I love foxes! I've broken it down: Getting there: We rented a car, so getting there was fine, and we saw some nice views on the way....More

It was about 20-30 minutes cab ride away from Shiroishizao Station. It was a day trip from Sendai for us. It was a unique experience to see at a close distance and even touch the fluffy foxes. There is a garden where you and the...More

Read a review (not on Trip Advisor) that called this place the "Cutest Place on Earth", so my 11 year old animal lover begged to come here on our trip to Japan. I ignored all the negative reviews on Trip Advisor and focused on the...More

This fox village is separate to a few parts, mainly the enclosure where foxes roams around and the other area where those foxes that are for “petting” are leashed at. There are other animals around the village too. There are specific timings where you could...More

The place is admittedly a bit of a mission to get to but I couldn’t pass up meeting some foxes . This place makes me feel a bit conflicted. The open green area they have, seemed well maintained and most of the foxes in there...More

I think there's a public bus on Friday, but if you insist going on Sat, like us, you must spend some time searching for someone going the same way. For us, we had no luck, and ended up paying "the expensive cab" :(
