There is a bus no.112 going to this temple from JR Nara, only spending half hour, quite convenient. Suggest to buy one day bus pass, only ¥500 each. Moreover, the wooden pass is cute. The temple is very lovely and a good place to see red maples. A little island in the pool in front of the temple, forms a beautiful scenery. Besides, inside the temple, there is a famous fairy with floral headband, only one to public in October and November, or other special days. So it’s the perfect time to go next week to see the fairy and red maples altogether.

Elegant main hall with superb images and a pagoda to boot, this place was very nice when visited in Autumn. Watch the attendant sprint out of his hut for his Yen300.- if he thinks there's a car wanting to park. Otherwise, bus is the best access.

Small temple I tranquil setting. The entry fee is Y300. The main hall has 9 Buddhist statues dating to 12th century, considered National Treasure. There's a miniature shrine with a hidden statue of a goddess of harvest, it's on view 3 times a year. A nice pagoda across the pond

It's about a 20-minute ride on a community bus from JR Kamo Station. It's on the border between Nara and Kyoto prefectures. It's said that this area was frequented by monks from the great temples of Nanto Buddhism to escape the hustle and bustle of the secular world and to train and study. This temple embodies the Pure Land of the era when the Fujiwara regents flourished from the mid-Heian period onwards. It is called Kutai-ji Temple and has nine national treasure Amida Buddhas enshrined in the main hall. After paying the 500 yen entrance fee, walk along the veranda at the back of the building and open the door to the building, and you'll see a golden Amida Buddha. A spectacular life-size Buddha
