Amazing view. Took the railway up (it runs every 15 min with the ride being 5 minutes), with no line up. There are lots of scenic photo areas set up. Parking was right below the station. There were hardly any tourists that day, probably due to the cold weather.
We went in December so it was really windy (like a typhoon) and cold. Luckily, there is a souvenir shop nearby for us to get warm drinks.

If you're visiting Amanohashidate, you definitely have to visit one of these two mountain peaks to appreciate the Amanohashidate land bridge from the top! But which to visit? Or to visit both? Here's a quick comparison to aid in your decision/ itinerary planning.
1) Location and getting there
Most hotels are situated closer to Amanohashidate train station/ Amanohashidate View Land/ the land bridge itself. (Check out the map I uploaded.) You'll most likely stay here too. If so, you definitely can get to the Amanohashidate View Land station by a 5-minute walk. However, getting to Kasamatsu Park is slightly trickier, since it's on a mountain peak on the other side of the land bridge. You can get there either by walking the entire 3km land bridge, ride a rented bicycle over, ride a bus there like we did, or to take the ferry there and back, after checking out the park up there. Covered details on how to get there in "Kasamatsu cable car" review.
2) What to see in each park
We went to both in May, and it was clear that the Amanohashidate View Land is a winner because of its proximity, convenience in getting there, AND more things to do since there's a mini theme park there for kids. There's almost nothing to do at Kasamatsu Park except the view, a gift shop and a snack shop. HOWEVER, if you visited the Kasamatsu Park during the spring cherry blossom months, I could imagine Kasamatsu Park being the more gorgeous mountain peak to visit. Also, apparently the "correct angle" to see the Amanohashidate land bridge as, "a dragon flying to heaven" is here at the Kasamatsu Park. The other angle you get at View Land is that of the dragon sleeping, descending heaven, or whatever. Honestly, cannot really tell the difference since we've done both!
3) However, if you aim is to just explore and relax..
Recommend you to do both, like we did. We enjoyed taking the bus exploring the town, enjoyed taking the ferry across, and simply just the idea of spending time together as a family exploring new places together is pretty good in itself.

Many people have commented that the view of Amanohashidate, one of Japan's Three Scenic Views, can both be seen from the top of Kasamatsu Park, and Viewland. These two parks are on opposite sides of the natural, pine filled land bridge. I will explain why I prefer this side to the Viewland side.
Pros: 1. Fewer tourists, both because the train station is located on the other side of the land bridge, and because there are less "attractions" at the top.
2. Less to do at the top. For people traveling with young children, the Viewland is arguably more appealing from a kid's perspective (with rides and a carnival-like atmosphere). Kasamatsu Park, has no real activities, other than tossing the traditional clay dishes through a ring to gain wisdom (both sides have this), and the places where you can look through your legs to view the land bridge upside down (its supposed to look like a dragon in the sky).
3. There is a good restaurant with excellent views.
4. The cable lift up has more beautiful trees set to the soothing background of birds as opposed to music (Viewland plays music currently)
5. From Kasamatsu Park, you can take the short mountain bus ride up to Nariaiji Temple, one of the 33 Pilgrimage Temples of Western Japan. The Temple and it's grounds are stunning and the views are incredible.
6. The town down below the park is more charming, with better gift shops, and a quaint road rough-cut stone road that leads to Moto Ise Kono Shrine, the most important shrine in the San'in region (multi-prefecture).
7. Without a doubt, the Kasamatsu side has better restaurants and more of them to choose from.
Cons: 1. If combining this with visiting the Amanohashidate land bridge, the far side (train station side) is a much more impressive area to take in the land bridge by foot. While the Kasamatsu side will be more peaceful and frequented by less people, the train station side (View land side) has two canals and rotating arched bridges to walk across, as well as access to more facilities and a small restaurant actually set on the natural land bridge.
2. Aside from lunch, and just relaxing, there is not much to do at Kasamatsu Park itself. I think both parks have this in common. This is not necessarily bad though, because you can combine the trip to the park with walking through the town below, taking a rent-a-cycle or boat across the land bridge, or even take the mountain bus up to Nariaiji.
Overall: Kasamatsu Park is a nice place to view Amanohashidate, and should be planned as a 15-20 minute stop (factor in time for chair lifts or cable car - 5-10 minutes one way) while you explore the larger Amanohashidate area.

I think if I had the choice between only this one or View Land on the other side of the spit, I’d probably go with View Land, but this place was nice too, and we enjoyed going to both! The view is quite different from either side of the land bridge and it’s nice to see the variety. There’s probably slightly less to do here than at View Land, but the mascot is arguably cuter!

After going to both sides to look over Amanohashidate, I think the view is better from the other side if you had to choose one. Although this is still nice, it's less touristy which also means there's not as much to see or do

Please go here because you have such a wonderful view ! It’s very beautiful. You have have a coffee or other drink and try the matcha cake too. It tastes good.
There is a little shop when you return to the cable cart. They have nice things / souvenirs 🤗

We were there on a winter's morning, so there was not much of a crowd. Would love to try the chair lift that is non-operational in winter. But that's not what we came for. Everyone goes up for the view. By all means, take all the photos you want, but be still and drink in the view.

Worth visiting. Have lunch there at the restaurant which provides a panoramic view. Try having fun trying to throw 3 discs (cost of 200 yen) to a round circle over the cliff to get good luck. Not so easy... the discs don't go the way you expect.

Lot's of open space and green area just next to the bay, this was along our round trip from Amanohashidate through Miyazu and certainly a chance finding this to say the least, a very favorable chance at that.

Walking through Amanohashidate is very challenging for me so I only walked 1/3 way and come back, but visiting Kasamatsu Park is much more fun for all of us specially 9 years old kids. You can see how to look all this natural bridge from this top of the mountain with cable car. Using boat from Amanohashidate station area to visit there will be fastest way, so good for young children also. Rainy season, this area has super heavy rain. Eating restaurant at this mountain will be provide wonderful time.
