The train ride (from Kyoto) Fukuchiyama to Amanohashidate is very interesting and something to remember for long. The people at the hashidate station were very nice and helpful. Its a great place to do a morning evening but i think spedning a night there could be a great idea. The ride/ walk / cycling from the mainland to the other... More

We went there by car driving from Osaka. We walked over the sand bar and then take the cable car to the mountain. To enjoy the view we put the head between legs upside down. It is unique and spectacular view.

This must be one of the most beautiful natural treasures of Japan but during the rainy days of June this is the most depressive place I have visited. The amusement park was sad, the town was dead, there was simply nothing to do since the beach was dirty. Yes dirty! I haven't seen dirt on the streets anywhere in Japan... More

This place is at a 2 to 3 hour train ride from Kyoto. This place has the sandbar (one of Japan's three scenic views). There is not much to do around except the sandbar view, so only go if you have a day to spare. Weather was very good though.

A very good experience here. Took the train from Fukuchiyama to Amanohashidate station which is where I paid Y1600 for the Amanohashidate foreigners pass which included the train ride, tour boat, cable car up the mountain, lift down the mountain, and bicyle for two hours. A great view from the mountain, and exhilerating experience riding the bicycle across the sand... More

An excellent day trip that suits all age group. I went to Amanohashidate during April and the weather was just perfect. Amanohashidate is considered one of Japan's 3 scenic views, and for a good reason. In order to be able to see this view one must first reach the viewpoint that is located across the 3km land bar and atop... More

It's a land bridge with north and south ends, has a ropeway and view deck on each end. Throughout the length of Amanohashidate, there are nice stops for photo ops and benches to sit and enjoy the scenery! Some locals even brought mats where they sit and eat their lunch! We came from the south end and went up the... More

Amanohashidate is famous as one of Japan's 3 great scenic views (another one is that Torii in the sea everybody's seen). Amanohashidate is a land bar separating two parts of Miyazu Bay. I enjoyed seeing the sports boats in the bay and I had an all you can eat cherry buffet.

Taking a very early train from Kyoto, my friend and I, headed for Amanohashidate. It was February, cold and cloudy, but it was the best! The walk from the train station (Miyazu) through the village was long, longer than we would have thought, but the view of the mountains across the water, the little (dead-quiet) harbour were fascinating to see...
