紅花というのは、染色材料のひとつだそうで、その花々が植えられているのがここです。開花シーズンでなければ、見た目はなんということない感じですが、これを使った染色体験もあるそうです。

紅花はこんな花をしているんですね

黄色い見慣れない花が咲いています。これが紅花なんだとじっくり見てしまいました。あたり一面に咲いていると見ごたえがありますね。
ベニバナ油の原料になるというのですが、この花から油がとれるなんて不思議です。

映画の舞台にもなった場所

ジブリのアニメ映画「おもひでぽろぽろ」の舞台になったところで夏の盛り咲く黄色い花は山形らしい景色を感じられます。ただそれ以外の季節は低い山並みなどどこにでもある田舎の風景が広がっています。

山形らしい景色が期待できるかも

ベニバナは夏なので、今回はただ田舎の風景を楽しんだだけですが、その季節に行けば今や少なくなった昔からの山形らしい風景が楽しめる場所です。
町の中心部からは離れていて、バスの便も良くないので、レンタカーやタクシーが良いと思います。

紅花が一面に咲いています

紅花は山形の県花だそうで、紅花茶などが山形には売られています。こちらの地区はジブリのアニメの舞台となった場所です。ちょっと見ごろを外してしまいましたが、私には紅花自体が珍しくきれいでした。

山形名産のベニバナを江戸時代から栽培している地区です。季節になるとベニバナで一面黄色いじゅうたんの畑になります。アニメ「おもひでぽろぽろ」のベニバナ場面は、ここ高瀬地区のは畑です。

夏場に山寺、蔵王など山形の村山地区に旅行に行くなら、是非、この地域を通って欲しい。黄色からオレンジ色の綺麗な花が咲いていることと思います。運が良ければ、花を摘んでいる農家の方に会えるかもしれません。仕事の邪魔にならない程度にお話を聞けたら、いいですね。
