ここだけ二回目の参拝。他の七福神寺院は殆ど初参拝だが・・。ここは勇気と決断を授ける寺院とされています。ここは淡路島内でも最古とされている寺院です。

淡路島七福神巡りの最後はこちらのお寺です。7福巡るのに半日で叶いました。それぞれのお寺に色々思うことも感じることも違い、巡ってみてとても良い勉強になりました。こちらの住職さんの御朱印はとても風格があり、丁寧に書いて頂きました。少しお喋りも付き合ってくださり、福を頂き、良いお軸に仕上がりましたことも感謝申し上げます。

好き嫌いは別にして、古いことだけに着目して評価すると〇５。創建後１４３１年が経過したと云う「昔話」級に古い寺院らしい。淡路島は神話の時代に神様がまだ我国に陸地が無かった頃、大海をかき混ぜて最初に造った陸地と云われているだけあって(あくまで、物語に過ぎないが)、古い縁起や物語を有する寺社が多いが、その一つがこの寺院とされている。毘沙門天と云うと何か昨今の低俗マスコミに感化された訳ではないが、越後の虎、ストイックな上杉謙信が信じた「戦闘の神さん」みたいな感じで、戦国武将等は全員大嫌いなわたし的には好きになれない神さんの一つです。尤も、実在の人物ではないから、目くじら立てる必要もないのではあるが。何で戦闘服に身を包んだこの神さんがここの御詠歌みたいな「情にあまる福徳の神」となるのかは大いなる疑問ではあるが。まぁ、神さんなんてものはわたし的には「信じる者は救われる、信じない者には何の足しにもんならない」存在でしかないので・・・実在の僧とか偉人は我欲に走らず、財を貯めこまなかった人達は崇敬、尊敬に値するが・・・所詮はほぼ全員がわが身と我が一族の事しか考えていない者ばかりだったが・・・。ここのお下がりはおざなりで・・・大した物では無かった。

門構えも含めて7福神の中ではなかなか歴史の由緒を感じるところだと思いました。6世紀末の創建だと記されていましたが、このお寺が「勇気」を貰えるのが毘沙門天という道理があまりよくわからなかった気がします。

国道28号線から少し南へ入ったところにある覚住寺です。淡路島で最も古い592年に創建された寺院となってます。小さな寺院ですが淡路七福神霊場の一つで毘沙門天が祀られてあり、訪れる人も多いようです。

国道からわりと広い道路をずっと進むと覚住寺がありました。駐車場もわりと広く、観光バスも駐車しやすくなっていました。駐車代金は必要ありませんでしたが、別途入山料が200円必要との事で、？となりました。
四国霊場等は拝観や、駐車料金はお心任せであったので、違和感を覚えました。奈良の春日大社等でも不要であって、心づくしに任せるべきではと感じました。

創建後、１４２４年、凄い歴史。これだけの古寺は京都・奈良でもそんなに沢山はありませんね。流石は（伝説だが）日本で一番最初に神様が造った島（淡路島）、日本発祥の地の寺院だけのことはありますね。淡路島でも最古の寺院です。ここは毘沙門天さん。勇気の神と云われていますが、私は専ら、「和合と友愛」の神と理解しています。夫婦円満にもご利益あるとか・・・当家はゼロ対１００で私がやられっ放しなので・・・円満と云えるか否か・・廻りから見ると円満なのかな？境内に赤い「のぼり」沢山立て過ぎ・・・堂宇の良さが派手な幟で隠れてしまう。

本堂には歴史のある彫刻や絵が置いてあり、長くここにあるんだなぁ、、、と感じました。
聖徳太子の勅詔によって建てられたともいわれており、それは歴史あるはずです・・・
