Sasayama castle is long gone, though the walls remain. There is an informative little centre on the site of where the castle was, with a short, English subbed video outlining its place in history. There are a collection of old castles around Japan. Though this is not the most popular, for a person interested in Japanese history this is a good taster. You can take a pleasant stroll and enjoy the view and also look for the hidden masonic style carvings in the stone walls.
