There is a good view of Itsukushima shrine and the ferry wharf area from this shrine. It is a very old wooden building with some interesting decorative features. There is some restoration work currently happening.

Senjyokaku is a big temple, which is standing on the top of hill. The inside is an empty large space, where you can relax while you enjoy a nice view of Itsukushima shrine.

Another beautiful shrine. Great walking and does charge a small entry fee. There are great old murals hung from the ceiling in this shrine and the wood floors look centuries old. The wild deer walking around add to the unique nature.

This UNESCO site is built on the seashore for the ebb and flow of the tide - makes it personal for each visitor as there are different things to see, we witnessed a traditional wedding blessing in the Shrine.
