Okunoshima Island Visitor Center is very close by to other attractions such as the light house and shrine. It's worth visiting as it's free and you will learn about the island & animals here.

There's lots to see here and the kids would love it, there seems to be classes that they hold for kids like workshops as you can see things that hve been made on display.

There are some informative displays, but nothing I found exciting. Its free, so worth a stop in. There's a model of the island, and some craft displays.

If you love bunnies, and who doesn't? This is the place for you. Yes, there is a dark history to this island being a past mustard gas facility, but that's no more. Bring food (vegetables) or buy some at the port. Either way you will...More

A side trip from our stay in Hiroshima and took about 1.5 hours to get to the destination by shinkansen, local train and ferry. Was very peaceful and not many tourists on the island. There are bikes to hire and the rabbits are absolutely adorable...More

Visited this primarily to see the rabbits but on further research found out that this island had quite a history! Despite lots of rabbits running around the island it had an eerie feel to it, especially visiting the dilapidated buildings on the island. Visiting the...More
