I was on a tour so didn't plan on stopping here but it was okay. You get to see the towels made so I had to buy some. Expensive but really soft towels, and friends and family are asking about them.

It is more or less a shopping mall. It is not impressive at all. And it was really strange that they are not selling the towel only but also foods and sourveniors...

More of towel store selling different pieces of towel. They had a small section showing the old weaving machine and a modern mill. That's about it.

We went to this so called museum by train and bicycle, which was quiet difficult enough. It is nothing but a big shopping mall for bus tourists. The choice of the towel creations was not really, what we've seen in other Ehime shops. Maybe if...More

Imabari is the town of making towels and they supply 70% of Japan's towel consumption. Quite a good place to buy towel, lots of patterns and color to choose.

The name of this attraction can be quite mis-leading. We arrived early in the morning. For me, it looked more like a mini shopping mall than boring museum. There is one floor for food. There are 2 to 3 more levels for various types of...More

There is a nice museum but it was not entirely towel-related (the main exhibits were Moomin and hang when we went) which were actually pretty interesting exhibits, just off-topic. Most of the towel-related items were the shops. The museum was also out of the way.

The first Imabari towels I ever saw were in a gift shop/convenience store at a train station in rural Ehime Prefecture. I thought they were gorgeous, and the patterns/colors unique. Since that time, I had wanted to see more of these towels, but they are...More

This place is not only a towel and textile museum. The location also has several floors of textile gift shops, area restaurants, great outdoor views, and an actual towel factory which can be viewed within the museum. Check this place out and I know you'll...More
