Went to the peak to get photos of the spectacular sunset

Came to the Hachimantai Visitor Center, then proceeded inside. Stopped briefly to watch the hot springs, then went to the peak. It was bitterly cold with biting winds at the time we went. Spectacular sunset viewed from the peak.

Be prepared for a fantastic visit

It is at the beginning of the Hachimantai Summit area visit. It starts with a brief introduction of teh geography in the area, then the first sight is the Onuma Pond with Autumn leaves which is fascinating. If you have time, you can walk around the pond with less than an hour. Otherwise, just take some photos and continue the journey to the summit.
