The lilies were in full bloom and attracted many locals. The pond was almost fully covered in large pink flowers and the city had put up sunshades for the visitors.

We were on our way to Myoko and heard the cherry blossoms were early and the best place to see them was at Takada Park. They were just amazing. Even better than what we saw in Yokyo.

A place of recreation and relaxation for local people. It surrounds Takada castle, which is the best scenery in Joetsu. You can enjoy 4,000 cherry blossoms in April, beautiful lotuses in May, tennis, athletics, walking, jogging and everything. I especially love outdoor reading in Takada park.

Visiting in winter the park and it’s gardens were covered in snow, whilst it was great to walk around the snow covered grounds it was obvious this place would come alive in Spring. If you visiting in the region Takada is definitely worth a visit.

By mid morning we were at the park vicinity. Noticably, sakura blossoms have passed its peak. However, the wet gound and cold morning provided a clear and crisp appearance, especially with the snow covered mountains in the background. Its still very pretty despite being here...More
