It connects the mainland and Enoshima Island and is a pedestrian-only bridge (bicycles and vehicles other than light vehicles must use the parallel "Enoshima Ohashi Bridge").
Because the bridge is located on the west side of the Enoshima Ohashi Bridge, it provides an unobstructed view of the west side, especially during sunset, and is an excellent spot for viewing the sunset. Although the sidewalk itself is wide, the path becomes clogged when many tourists arrive to view the sunset, so it is best to share the view of the sunset with other visitors.
On the other hand, because there are no obstructions, the wind is strong throughout the day, and hats and other items are often blown off. In addition, dragonflies often fly over the area, and if you are not careful while walking and eating, you may have your food snatched by them.

We planned for a Day trip to Kamkakura & Enoshima is in the Shonan area, knowing that they offer unique sights and experiences and planning visits to shrines and temples, gourmet delights and even activities in the sea.. From the Hase station we walked through busy streets until we can see Enoshima Island. From here almost everyone walk to Enoshima Island by the bridge. There is of course a vehicular way just beside the wide walking bridge.
It was already 4+ and in Dec night falls earlier. as we started crossing. Surprisingly the gutsy wind was strong and it was a challenging brisk and cold walk. Luckily, we were prepared with extra clothes (Mont Bell, NFace .. haha). . It took about 15+ mins to complete to reach, and nearby the other side the wind reduced, probably due to blockage (break-wind) at the marina.
The return trip after we visited 江島神社 was much better, but it was dark by 6+ pm. Lesser hurried we got to see the beautiful sunset at the distance, and yes we even saw Mt Fuji! And looking back at the distance Enoshima we can see the lighthouse “Sea Candle” well illuminated for X'mas celebration. Love the experience!

You can walk to Enoshima island by walking on this bridge. It’s a nice walk but quite windy and cold. Prepare extra clothes if you would like to walk there. It’s around 15 mins to complete the journey.

The easiest way to get across from the mainland to Enoshima island is to walk on this bridge. It was crowded with pedestrians and when we were there, some parts of the bridge was narrowed due to repair works. On a fine day, you can see the sea, mainland, beach, harbour and maybe even Mt Fuji, which we couldn't see. Some statues at the start on the mainland side. Probably less than 10mins walk across.

A nicely decorated bridge that goes to the island, not a bad way to build up your anticipation of arriving to the island.

You need the bridge to reach the island. It is not beautiful, but very functional. At present, there is some temporary work underway, reducing the pedestrian lanes.

Nice, easy walk from Enoshima to Enoshima Island and Shrine. On a clear day you are afforded breathtaking views of Mt. Fuji and Enoshima Beach as you make your way to the Island. While we were there March 2019 there was some construction taking place on the bridge but it was still very passable and an enjoyable walk. Fishing boats to one side and a large marina is visible to the other side so you will not run out of things to see on your journey.

It's simply the road and footbridge to the island, always very crowded. The carved statues at the mainland end are worth viewing. Word of warning, be very careful not to hold any food walking across, as the Kites that have made their home here will swoop down to steal the food, and they are big birds! If you want to admire the views, better to go onto the nearby breakwater. No crowds !!
