Though fare itself was fairly high for an aquarium: i.e. 960 JPY for an adult, nature is there, and carefully watching those fishes, worthy watching them for whole day. Available watching various types of fishes, how fishes act freely among their differences, and children loved finding out newly fishes they have never seen. Parking fee was 200 JPY for 2... More

the undersea tower stands in the ocean, and you walk on the bridges to there about a few minutes to 5 minutes from the entrance. I did not expect to see lots of fish, but as soon as I reached at the bottom (there are only stairs to go down), many fish came in to my sight from the window.... More

Walking out to the tower itself gives you some great views of the cliffs, ocean, and such. The tower itself is about 5-6 stories under the waterline. What fish you see are largely luck of the draw, but they put baits out and there was a good mix when we were there. Patience pays off if you wanna spot something... More

It is a wonderful place to discover wild marine life up close. Many different types of fishes swim around the tower. The tower itself is in a spectacular location. The walk to the tower is, in itself, a very scenic experience. Wonderful for kids who love marine life. Although it is called the Katsuura Undersea Observatory, the closest train station... More
