Beautiful and vast stretch of sandy beach north of the city. There are lovely forested walks through a red squirrel reserve along with one of the country's most scientifically important dune collections. A great escape from the city and a good place...more

Okay so after reading some of the worst reviews on here I decided to write my own. Okay I do come from Formby but it has annoyed me to no end the comments that the beach has got recently. First off the dunes were man-made...More

Beautiful long stretch of beach with undulating sand dunes. Walked along the beach then round through the red squirrel reserve back to the national trust car park. What a great way to spend a couple of hours out in the great outdoors

I walk my dog in some part of this beautiful area every day (along with many other dedicated dog walkers). We are so fortunate to live relatively close to such a vast expanse of varied terrain including beach, sand hills, woodland and open space. A...More

We had a lovely family day out at Formby Point. There are lots of little paths and places to go with great scenery and of course the squirrels. There is a little coffee van and an ice cream van for refreshments but there aren’t any...More

Beautiful place but the price has doubled since the last time a I came with my horse trailer. Threatening unfriendly signs displayed to horse riders . Will not be using this car park again

I decided to take the train up the coast from Liverpool to enjoy the coastal scenery and forestry. A 20 minute train journey from Moorfields station in Liverpool transports you to this affluent commuter town. A 10-15 minute walk from the station leads you to...More

Only came here to see the Red Squirrels and it did not disappoint, saw at least 6 but they do take some finding, amazing creature which I hope will soon be a common sight in the UK, time will tell.

One of the most beautiful beaches in the north west but gets very busy in school holidays with it's fair share of Liverpool scallies misbehaving. Most families would be better to carry on up the road a few miles to Southport.

Formby is a lovely north west town that has two significant draws - a national trust area that is teeming with red squirrels and a sandy beach that extends for miles and is huge when the tide goes out. We visited at the start of...More
