The English tour was wonderful given by Monica and we started out in the little chapel. Well worth seeing this plus its sanctuary. The whole place including the house has magnificent wood ceilings and all natural wood plus ornamental wood above each door entrance. Lots...More

This family palace, built in 1739 is truly awesome, lots of beautifully carved woodwork, artwork, and antique furnishings, is well worth the visit, which includes a guided tour in many languages. Most enjoyable was the vast network of gardens unlike any others I have seen....More

Guide done in English was very prolific. Gardens were magnificent, relaxing walk around. Guide of the actual palace was amazing and very informative.

Very nice minipalace belonging to a count who is regretting allowing the inferior Mateus Rose to use a likeness of his casa on their labels

No sense to review this beautiful place. So, just some practical information. Price is Euro 8,50 now, no discounts for kids, they say that cards are accepted but do not have an equipment at spot, so get your cash handy. It is a very short...More

Went to this Palace as part of our cruise up the River Douro and it was well worth. Clearly it had been previously booked so no waiting and well looked after. The exterior of the palace is beautiful behind a small lake and beautiful flowers....More

This private home is beautiful inside and out. The gardens are extensive and very well kept. We even saw workers trimming and clipping while we walked through them. The rooms have stunning carved ceilings and richly ornamented furniture. I especially liked the library with its...More

When you walk through the gates (you must park outside across the road) and turn the corner, the first view of the house and lake is stunning!! The façade of the buildings is equally impressive and the formal gardens are also beautiful. We arrived at...More

Visited today specifically for the wine tasting and house tour. Tour and gardens were nice...a bit pricey...but no tasting avail when we arrived 1:30pm...or when we left at 3pm...oh well plenty of other wineries in the area

We visited the gardens as a trip from our river cruise. My wife was impressed by the standard they had achieved and we had no trouble spending the time there. It is fascinating that they do not try to sell you bottles of the famous...More

it's 12 euro per visitor, for the castle, the chapel and free for the gardens. If you like wine, spend the extra 5 euro for the wine tasting, it's something different from the well known rosé
