I visited here with my family in Summer 2017. Getting into the castle is reasonably priced. Finding parking was a bit of a challenge and there is not a lot of signage once you are inside but the castle is impressive and the view from...More

Castle Köingstein, the park and immediate surroundings are well worth a visit. The padestrain zone was spectacular full of flower boxes on most of the old Tudor type buildings and absolutely spotlessly clean. We arrived with the Oma just after lunch it was like a...More

We went there to visit the city and the ruins, paid 3€ which is not bad, but we expect to see something. We found the ruins with the lights turned off, so we had to use the phones to guide us, all doors closed and...More

I would recommend walking around the park and not just parking nearby. If you park nearby, it is only a 400 m walk. The park is nice walk and forrest is pleasant. The views from the ruins are very nice, with Frankfurt in the distance....More

Walked up there from town on a chilly Fall day and it was rather mystical. Looking at what it probably looked like before it was mostly destroyed in 1796 was interesting but wished we had seen that picture before we went. Rooms were labeled in...More

Some castles (and castle ruins) are not very tourist accessible, but this one you pay a small admission and can really explore the depths as much as you wish. I hear Burgfest is a great time to visit, but we just couldn't make our trip...More

Burg Königstein castle was a great hike. There is a train station in town that we should've taken from Frankfort. Instead, we took the train to Kronberg and walked from there. It took over an hour. The best part was heading toward the castle and...More

Königstein is a very nice place and there is a tower and it has beautiful view on it. You can park in the city and you have to walk up, but it is not a problem, it´s worth it.

We were there for an event being held on the grounds. The event is the only thing that redeemed our trip. Wouldn't have been worth the trip for the castle alone.
