Don't be carried away by the "introduced" sexy species of Brown Hyena, Eland, Zebra, Giraffe and White Rhino. These meet your expectations of Africa. But you fund the endemic species of Roan Antelope, Waterbuck, Buffon's Kob, West African Crocodile, several monkey species, Gambian Sun Squirrel, Gambian Fruit Bat and Common Warthog, Not to mention many species of bird including Ostrich and Helmeted Guineafowl - all native species.

Such a great visit! Went with daughter and her boyfriend. Our guide, in particular, made it perfect. Moustapha at 221 77 278 39 37

We chose the half day tour via TUI that cost £120 for the two of us. Not particularly good value but it was a fairly comfortable drive to the reserve. Once there it was a quick comfort break and then clamber into the back of what looked like an ex military Renault truck. They pack them in and it was definitely cramped. The guide commandeered two of the seats with the most space but was very knowledgeable. He talked in French and English which did mean a few waits but was keen for us to see all that was available and to keep us interested. Glad we went, but this is not what I would consider a real safari and more of on a par with West Midlands Safari Park but hotter. Due to the cramped seating, if you were not in a ‘window’ seat (no windows) it was awkward to get good pictures, the guide would take your camera/phone and take some for you, or of you. Slick operation with minimal hanging about and friendly staff.

We were impressed with this wildlife reserve. Guided tours (in jeeps of various sizes, depending on what size group you've paid to be in) are provided in open (but covered) jeep/vehicles, and the guide takes you around this very large reserve in search of animals. And we saw many. As with any wildlife, you aren't going to get super close, and you can't guarantee that you'll see everything listed as possible. But the guides try very hard to provide you with good viewing opportunities.

At the end of the tour we had lunch in the restaurant, which was quite nice. The food was good, the beer was cold, and the wildlife entertainment was delightful. There were monkeys trying to pop in for food and staff trying to keep them out. There were warthogs wandering thru! There were crocodiles in the small lake below the restaurant, as well as iguanas.

And the gift shop was lovely. Not filled with junk, so not cheap, but had lots of nice options that benefit the reserve.

Overall we were very pleased with this stop and would recommend it for those with or without kids.

I loved seeing the animals I was able to see, but quite disappointed in how few animals I saw. Apparently, poaching is an ongoing problem and its effect is very noticeable. I was able to see zebra, giraffe, monkeys, ostrich, Elan antelope and a very small herd of Wildebeast.

This was a fantastic trip. We saw zebras, giraffe, ostrich, buffalo, birds, crocodiles and Eland all from the comfort of an open truck with 7 people including the guide.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Bandia Reserve and the lion section across the road. The guides were very knowledgeable and spotted animals and birds from miles away. The guide spoke very good English and this made it easy to learn more about the variety of the species at the reserve.

We saw rhinos, warthogs, giraffe, antelope, zebras, ostriches, monkeys and many more animals!

It was brilliant value for money and gave me memories that I will cherish forever.

It's not like a safari in Kenya or elsewhere but remains a nice tour through the reserve and you come really close to the animals. Also the park itself is really nice.
Unfortunately our Park guide in combination with the driver did not really consider that people like us are interested in photography and sometimes it seemed that they were more interested in returning as quick as possible to the entrance building...
