This review should be under Melchsee-Frutt and not "Things to Do in Kerns" since you can drive to Stöckalp from anywhere in Switzerland. You can also take the train from Lucerne to Sarnen and the post bus to Stöckalp ( 1hr20). From there you take the aerial cable car to Melchsee-Frutt. This is a plateau and therefore easy to navigate... More

Had an amazing time sleighing off the Melchsee-Frutt. First time sleighing and first time wintersports, couldn't have dreamt about a better place to do so! Amazing track with even better views!

This place has a lot of attractions in one place. Its a typical piece of Switzerland for adults and special for kids. A very relaxing and beautiful place to be for the day or in the hotel overnight.

Went their with our family who were going skiing. Took cablecar from car park in Stockalp. staff at car park make use of every available space. Cable cars take about 8 people and even though there was a queue you are on your way up in very little time. Various degrees of slopes from ones that 3year olds can practice... More

Just 1+ hour from Lucerne is a beautiful alp, Melchsee-Frutt where the locals go for their winter skiing. As first timers, we had lots of fun enjoying the sledge riding in the amazing view. Worth visiting when you are near Lucerne.

I can only recommend to take the cable-car to Melchsee-Frutt from the Stöckalp parking lot. From there, you can have a light walk around 1,2 or 3 lakes. If you are looking for something harder, just walk to the Balmeregghorn where you will have a wonderful view on some of the glacier. Then walk to Tannalp and go back to... More

Beautiful place with amazing views, great family skiing area with good lessons, not all joined up that well, some parts where you need to carry skis/boards to reach next tow or chairlift, some lovely wide runs

This is one of my favorite hikes in the world. We catch the Swiss Post bus, from Meiringen to Engstlenalp. You start the hike by passing the stunning Engsteln See, up to the Joch Pass, and over the ridge to Melchsee-Frutt. Melchsee-Frutt is a beautiful small town on a Swiss Alpen lake. A stunning feature, for photographers, is the small... More

We went there at the end of March. We were planing to go for hiking but there was still a lot of snow. Many people went there for skiing and snowboarding. Although I don't ski, there is sledge for rent. So I tried sledging. Though I was a little scared but I had a lot of fun. I must go... More
