We went to this museum as a day trip from Osaka. The route was Osaka City Subway to JR Tennoji, JR Rapid service to Kamo, a JR local service on a tiny one carriage train to Igaueno, then a private local service to Uenoshi. The services connected quite well and Tennoji to Uenoshi took slightly over 2 hours. The ticket... More

Went here on February 2016. TripAdvisor's date doesn't go back to that date. This is one of the must-visit if you love the Japanese culture, especially about Ninja. You can see what a house with traps and hidden doors looks like, see the weapons Ninja used, train shooting a Shuriken, and watch Ninja attraction.

Ninja museum in Iga city, Mie prefecture is a perfect place to visit if you want to know everything (or maybe not everything... perhaps there are some secrets that are left unfolded... ) about ninja. This place is located just below Iga-Ueno castle, around 10 minutes walk from Iga-Ueno station (they have ninja-themed trains!), within a park with many trees... More

I took four easily manageable connecting trains from Kyoto to visit Iga with its Ninja history. Trains on the last route are brightly decorated with cartoon ninja faces and shurikens. The train station has mannequin ninjas. The park with the museum is on a hill behind the train station. It was easy to find. People are brought into the ninja... More

I brought my son expecting more. It seems that this museum is the heart of the region. Brings a lot of tourists and money for the economy. My son is passionate about ninja so he was really expecting to have the time of his life. When you start, you visit the museum with some history about the place which is... More

It took some time to get here, but I love it! I got to see a village in Japan, far from cities. There's english explaination in the museum, so you can understand the ninja's house secret xD and you can see the real ninja tools and technique! Also the ninja show is a must! You need to pay more for... More

Iga Ueno is home to one of the main Ninja clans in ancient Japan. The exhibition shows the Life of the ninjas and the tools they used. If u go in any season other than winter, u will get to see authentic performances of the ninja skills. They also transplanted a real ninja house there. There is a guided show... More

This show was part of our tour on our way to Kyoto, It is a very old placed. This is actually more for fans of Ninja. They have a very small museum and a couple of minutes show were they won't let you videotape or take pictures. After show is over they give you some tickets to do the star... More

This was one of my favorite places I visited on a two week adventure in Japan. The museum itself seemed very average, but the ninja house, ninja show and castle were all amazing!! With trap doors and secret hiding weapon stashes under the floor boards, and the odd ninja star zipping by.. this place had me wide eyed and fully... More

We took a day trip from Kyoto to Iga, this is one location where bullet trains don't help, after 2 hours and 4 train changes, we finally arrived (could be worth hiring a car, in reality it's only around 50km from Kyoto - just no direct rail line). The local train service is brilliant we boarded the ninja train for... More
