Okayish kind, not much to see except for the ones kept in glass house and the valley view. Good thing is you can take your car inside throughout the journey. That is little adventurous with winding routes. Be sure to go in daytime before 5. We went at 5 and hardly anyone were there.

Booking is a process so I attach a picture to help. Orchids were not flowering so probably it was not the right season. Overall nice 1 hour stroll.

This is perhaps the best thing in Yercaud. It can be called just a garden, since it is not designed on the lines of a typical botanical garden. It has lovely rose garden and large play area for children. The garden if maintained well can really be very good.

We visited Yercaud during Christmas break after Covid lockdown. As part of tourist attractions, we also visited the Botanical Gardens which the Government had opened just one month back. Just to warn other tourists, there is nothing to see in the Garden, as it was closed for 8 months and not maintained well. Only in the beginning of December, the authorities started re-growing the plants and maintenance activities. The Government should have kept it closed for another 2-3 months and brought it to a state where people can have something to see. The ticket price is Rs. 30 per head and Rs. 40 for Car parking. We came out of the park within 10 minutes as there was nothing to view.

Do not go. It should be shut down. Staff not interested. Maybe no budget. Waste of space. Clunky online payment portal. Naturally growing trees and shrubs thriving but no cultivated ones.

Those who travel to Yercaud please note that since last week you need to procure a ticket online to visit botanical gardens. There is no ticket sales at the entry point. Not only that, you have to present a printout of the receipt too!!!! Yercaud doesn't have many cafes so please take ticket and printout before you start the journey. I gave one star because of this utopian rule implemented out of the blue. I am attaching a snapshot of the notification by the ministry of Finance stuck on the entrance gate. If you search online elsewhere you will get to nowhere. There is not a single site until now that says booking has been made online. Rate for adults 10 Rs. Children Rs. 5.

They have an entrance fee for the place. It was overtly crowded. The view of the lake from the garden was just okay-ish. There was litter and the garden was not clean. I am not sure if the place is bad because of the crowd or its poor maintained. Anyways not worth a visit unless you have kids to entertain.

Be cautioned that even if it is a Rs.10 entry ticket, you need to go through a difficult process of booking it online from a government website by making payment to a specific department of the Ministry of Forests. Otherwise the guards won't let you in.

The garden itself is nice, but not very remarkable, though we did have a good time there.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: (Clarity missing at many places) - Read Carefully:
1. THERE ARE 2 UNITS of BOTANICAL GARDENS (Ref Photo of Google Map, attached)
2. One BOTANICAL GARDEN is close to the Boating Lake, with Main Entrance (Ticket) from 'Salem - Yercaud Ghat Road'; Another entrance from Lady's Seat Road. (Relatively new one, yet to develop, a lot)
3. NEXT BOTANICAL GARDEN in on NAGALUR ROAD, (way to Shevaroys Hill)! (with Very OLD Trees, Plants, etc. - Refer to photos - More Botanical & for studies.)

BOTH ARE SEPARATE TWO AREA!! (Many comments & photos are Mixed, confusing people)

BOTH HAVE VERY GOOD SCOPE FOR PHOTOGRAPHY!

QUESTION: Are these that WORTH to SEE & take PHOTOS?
YES, for few people 9INTERESTED IN NATURE, PHOTOGRAPHY, STUDIES, etc) these are thrilling and very useful!
But, if you are on a 2 day tour to Yercaud, it is better to avoid, as there are many other locations to cover!

These are maintained by southern circle of Botanical Survey of India (Under the Ministry of Environment & Forest. Refer to the photos to understand.

IMP:
More photos will be added later, please

Really nice place to spend a couple of hours. Lots of secret paths and a place to sit on the rocks and contemplate the forest. Most rickshaw drivers don’t know where it is and the big map in town center is inaccurate. Most important DO buy your admission online and print it out before you go. There is no other way to get in. If you do it through your hotel try to have them use their credit card and pay them back in cash bc your bank will send up a red flag when you try to make a charge of ten rupees!
