A nice area for photos and coffee by the sea. Locals mention often the legend that the rocks are the ones that the cyclops were throwing at Odysseus.

Nicely done beach with wooden platforms above rocky coastline, clear waters and excellent views of the castle.

The beach is composed of big stones. I recommend to go to the part of the beach on the "corner" where there is a view point to the rocks and to the castle in the neighbour town. In this part you don't pay any fee, the entrance to the see is not so stony, because the water is deeper. It is recommended to take goggles with you because the water is crystal clear with many fish. Alhough the beach is not so comfortable beacuse of the stones, it is really nice place with beautiful view. You can go there from Catania by public bus for 1€, 45 min ride.

Perfect for snorkeling and chill out in the sun or shade. A nice bar and also a restaurant for those who preffer. Swimmingpool with sea water, but I higly recommend the sea. Easy acess to the water by stairs, but wear bathing shoes if you want to stand on tve rocks. A bit pricey (10 € just to enter and then 3 € for umbrella or deckchairs).

Greek Legend says that, Ulysses lands on the island of the Cyclops during his journey home and, together with some of his men, enters a cave filled with provisions. When Polyphemus returns in the evening and eats two of the men, Ulysses offers Him some strong wine given to him earlier on his journey. Drunk and unwary, the giant asks Ulysses his name and he answered "my name is nobody". Planning to escape. Ulysses had meanwhile hardened a wooden stake in the fire and now drives it into Polyphemus' eye. When Polyphemus shouts for help from his fellow giants, saying that "Nobody" has hurt him, they think Polyphemus is drunk.
In the confusion Ulysses manage to escape the cyclop and sails off the island, Polyphemus for revenge casts huge rocks towards the ship, )which Odysseus barely escapes. (The "faraglioni",Which they remains into this sea )🌊

Wandering along the prom you see this lovely island, which it is also possible to visit. Added to the other volcanic rock structures in this little fishing village, makes a pleasant place to sit and take in the atmosphere

We came back to this beach club again and again. We tried others along the coast which were a bit fancier (and more expensive) but the location and facilities here are great for families.

The service from Sonia and the staff in the little café was so warm and friendly too.

It's very "local" and even though we don't have much Italian we were really made to feel welcome.

Highly recommended!

Could be because we entered on a weekday - but still In August - we found a reasonably peaceful lido to hang out in for a day. No loud music or kids. Mostly families or older couples. Cost to non-residents is 10 Euro/person. Very large spaces/decks to hang out on near the water. No beach - but that is typical of this area. Very nice salt water pool - be sure to bring swim caps. Two/three places to grab food if you want, or it appears you can bring in picnic lunch.

Ciclopi islands are very small and spectacular. It's very easy to visit them by boat and swim there. Sea is beautiful and geographical shapes of the islands are very impressive.
