It's the highest point in Sussex and it's a great walk outside, whatever the season. it can get a bit windy up there but it's worth it. great for dog walkers, for the kids etc and if you're a cyclist like me, riding up the beacon from the northern side is a nice challenge

I discovered Ditchling Beacon 4 years ago when I moved to the area and found the view stunning and a really nice walk. The car par has recently been revamped. I have even walked there on Xmas day 2 years ago and the view is stunning and changes with the seasons. Have taken many visitors to this vista point and... More

This is a great dog walk very close to Brighton. It's accessible by bus on weekends and bank holidays. Views in both directions. You can walk a short way and then back, or head further along the South Downs Way.

What a view! Just the best place to walk the dog, collect your thoughts and enjoy your surroundings. It doesn't matter what the weather is like, this is one of the reasons to be glad to be British!

This is a 'honeypot' site on the South Downs because it has a car park and great views. As a result it's quite busy but you only have to go a mile or so away and you can be on your own, less if you know which public footpath or bridleway to use. There's the remains of an Iron Age... More

Ditchling Beacon is the highest point on the downs and a must see just for the view. Parking is free for National Trust paying for others which is a shame, but they've got to keep it running somehow. Don't go at night with your girlfriend for a romantic snog the police will stop you and ask you questions which will... More

We stayed for week in a village near Brighton and decided to spend a day outside (you cannot shop every day) and were very glad we did that. A great walk with nice views, sheeps all around and surprising places that you only discover when you walk. One of the nicest days of our holiday

Great views, try getting up their on your bike without stopping a real workout? Lovely when you get to the top and the icecream van might be there!
