A great place to walk

We walked to Mount Harry beacon having a picnic on the way. It was very windy. I needed a hat. It was fairly flat just small hills.

If you're near this amazing viewpoint go see it! We enjoyed a couple of hours here and loved it. There are loads of walks from here and although we didn't go far, the views were stunning. There's a reasonable amount of parking (payable, of course!) and a great ice cream van which makes for a great combination. Not sure what... More

Even though the wind was cold and persistent we had a lovely walk. My male 17yr old took lots of pano's which indicates how lovely the views are! Please please put a toilet in at the car park though!

Great views - can see the sea and for miles around in all directions - and good walking too, trails in all directions on chalky paths, one goes right along the top. Car park is small though so you might not find a space.

I didn't want to go but I knew I had to... Ditchling is the infamous 'b' of a hill towards the end of the London to Brighton bike ride. You feel like you'll never reach the top but when you do, as much as you want take in the views, you just feel lucky to be alive. Having said that,... More

We must have picked one of the most beautiful days to visit Ditchling Beacon. Warm sunny weather and as a result magnificent views to both north and south. Absolutely NOT to be missed! For cyclists, it is worth taking a coffee and some carbs before attempting the climb. It is tough but just keep going!

I've been here a number of times with my girlfriend and it never gets old. The views are fantastic and there are a number of different routes you can take throughout so you never have to repeat the same journey more than once. Only issue is parking can be a bit of a nightmare at busier times so be wary.

Worth the effort as the views are stunning to enjoy the best of the South Downs. Do dress for ever changing weather conditions.

Great views and stopping off point on the Sussex Downs, love the way you can park at the top or walk up from the bottom. Have attacked this as a dog walker, cyclist and with horses.
