Walked from the small car park at the foot of the Beacon, just outside Ditchling (surface a bit rough and uneven but ok) You can choose to drive up the hill to the NT car park but this was more fun. Got the blood flowing...More

This is National Trust land with wonderful walks and views. If driving there is a tiny car park and I would imagine it gets full on busy days and there is no where else to park. We arrived late afternoon on a blustery and cool...More

Amazing view across the Downs and Weald. Lies on the South Downs Way. Easy access and car park. Great for serious walkers

For those with limited walking ability, this is one of a limited number of hills with a car park (pay) at the top!

If you're near this amazing viewpoint go see it! We enjoyed a couple of hours here and loved it. There are loads of walks from here and although we didn't go far, the views were stunning. There's a reasonable amount of parking (payable, of course!)...More

Even though the wind was cold and persistent we had a lovely walk. My male 17yr old took lots of pano's which indicates how lovely the views are! Please please put a toilet in at the car park though!

Great views - can see the sea and for miles around in all directions - and good walking too, trails in all directions on chalky paths, one goes right along the top. Car park is small though so you might not find a space.

I didn't want to go but I knew I had to... Ditchling is the infamous 'b' of a hill towards the end of the London to Brighton bike ride. You feel like you'll never reach the top but when you do, as much as you...More

We must have picked one of the most beautiful days to visit Ditchling Beacon. Warm sunny weather and as a result magnificent views to both north and south. Absolutely NOT to be missed! For cyclists, it is worth taking a coffee and some carbs before...More

If you are walking that would be a good idea as it is high above both Ditchling itself and Brighton. If you are cycling you will have a drinks bottle etc and when you have been to the Beacon pop down into Ditchling for a... More
