Worth the long and winding trip up! Several places to eat if you fancy it, too! Plenty of places to pull in to take photo's or just to enjoy the fresh air and listen to the gentle tinkling of the cow-bells.

If you are ever traveling from France to Italy and have the time to spare then you should seriously consider taking the Pass Route rather than the tunnel. the scenery is awesome, the drive exhilarating, and there are pleasant villages and stops along the way....More

The scenery here is stunning, as is the drive over the pass. And as you cross the Alps you can marvel at how Hannibal did it more than 2000 years ago, with elephants.
