Hi Esther, i came from Awash which is almost the same distance like from Addis, around 400km 7h and the roads are good to do it in one day easily. I had a guide with me all the time, but when you enter the park, there is a ranger station, ask there for a guide, or in goba, the place you get food. I slept in wabe shebelle hotel, not good, but not many possibilities. Very good is bale mountain lodge on their website, they have useful info, and the place is wonderful, enjoy ethiopia!!

I have been to Bale Mountain National Park with My Germany customer and we had a 5 Night 6 days trekking tour arranging all the necessary things and what i understand is that, the probability to spot the Ethiopian red Fox with itinerary is highest as we spot the red Fox during the last day of our trip!
Bale Mountain National Park is very rich with wildlife and they sometime are able to spot them near your Hotel.
I recommend this park worth to visit for wildlife lovers!
