This is the biggest lake in Kyrgystan. There are many places to stop and camp in discrete locations on the beaches. Great to picnic. Take a few days to travel around the lake-you won't be disappointed.

Stunning lake, surrounded by snow topped mountains. Clear blue waters which are great for swimming. Surrounding towns are a work in progress but just sort of add to the feeling about the place. Magical !

Don't miss Issy kul. Equally, you should experience a yurt stay in one of the delightful gorges to the south of Issy kul. We stayed in the Jetty Oguz gorge - south of Karakol : it's incredibly Alpine. Amazing adventure..
