On a really high hill, it is not as crowded as Satuang Pyei, and is cleaner. Our guide then took us to a big, working monastery and also a Convent both lower down the hill, worth a visit (not on trip advisor)

Yet another pagoda with all that gold and being visited by the locals in the hundreds every day. Religion can be so soothing and seeing the committed Buddhists enjoying their religious places where to worship is so calming. Can't get bored seeing peace and contentment.

Covered in gold this quite an impressive pagoda on the highest hill of Sagaing (37 hills), built in the early 1300’s (so immaculate) it looks like it was built yesterday. the views made for awesome piccies.

The temple is quite nice, nice view to the the river from the top hill. Actually in 20 minutes just visiting is enough, cleaners and not much vendors than many other places around.

The pagoda itself doesn’t impressed me pretty much but the location for a fantastic lookout. I just felt so different when thousands of religious monuments surround me.

Sitting atop Sagaing Hill, this substantial and highly decorated pagoda is really quite stunning. Lots of gold leaf, shrines, Buddha figures etc. Walking around the base provides stunning views across the hills and pagodas and down to the river.

The views accross the Irriwady are so amazing that the pagoda becomes secondary. The pagoda is very lovely and has interesting tiled floors.
