Sagaing Hills have many venerated pagodas, monasteries and meditation centers. Not only for the religious, the landscape is also fine for the nature lovers.

About a 50 minute drive from downtown Mandalay - the view from the bridge is spectacular. Definitely need a vehicle to take you around as too big to do it on foot.

It is quite hard to visit the spots as the lanes are small, not well described but the hidden places such as the small monastery with the beautiful handcrafted things or the old colonial styled building or the monasteries are worth to explore.

To be able to visit this beautiful location and see how the locals live and how the monasteries help the poor families and orphaned children is just so heart warming and it teaches us a thing or two about our materialistic and self centred lives....More
