Prohodna is the most beautiful karst cave in north central Bulgaria, located in the Iskar Gorge near the village of Karlukovo. The main sight here are the "two huge eyes" on the roof of the cave - the eyes of supernatural power.

The place is far from main roads, however the visit is definitely worth. There are organised daily trips from Sofia. The cave is huge, and the view is simply amazing. It actually looks like two eyes. Essential natural attraction in Bulgaria.

“God’s Eyes” as the cave is nicknamed is very beautiful and worth going to check out! It’s an easy trip down into the cave, but I recommend wearing good climbing shoes. Rock climbing is also allowed at the cave, which is pretty awesome.

That was an amazing experience. The cave is enormous, the lighting is magnificient. We were lucky to be alone in the central part, which undeniably added to the experience. Must visit.

I don't think a tour is needed, just a rental car or a ride to the site. There are no formal hours of operation and no staff or security on site. There are companies that arrange tours though if you want to spend the money... More
