trek in the jungle it is wonderful.. the guides know there stuff. the animals are wild so be careful . carry water. very hot and steep.

Worth the drive from Medan to be close to nature. Book Jungle Edie as your tour guide. He will purchase park permits and help with hotel and transportation from Medan. We stayed at Heritage Hotel.

I didn't do it but you can do 1 ore more day hikes where you can see the Orangutan's , with hiking back or by tubing in the river. The centre is still there but not for visiters and the Orangutans are in the wild...More

Hi Jon, Day trip from medan is possible since the journey time from medan to bukit lawang only 3 - 4 hr driving. I suggest you to go early morning from medan, ask your hotel or hostel for transportation by car. Regular... More
